Because various Christians have differing and sometimes contradictory interpretations of the Bible, non-Christians or atheists claim that it could not have been revealed by an all-good, all-knowing, all-powerful God, since such a God would have wanted and been able to guarantee that His revelation was understood correctly by everyone. Since some readers must have come to an incorrect understanding (because they cannot all be correct, at least one of the interpretations must be wrong), the author of the Bible does not have the "all-" attributes listed above, and so would not be God. This conclusion, however, does not logically follow. These critics overlook the possibility that one interpretation could be correct and that God allows misinterpretations, like other evils, in order bring about greater goods.
